This SAE Standard is written as an optional equivalent to ISO 7588 and ISO 7880.

This proposal specifies the main dimensions and terminal allocation for a family of relays incorporating a dual in-line pattern of 280 (2.8 mm) terminals to be used in surface vehicle applications.
