This specification covers an aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of heat treated bars.

These bars have been used typically for parts with sections 1.50 inch (38.100 mm) and under in nominal thickness requiring a minimum tensile strength of 125 ksi (863 MPa), but usage is not limited to such application.
