This International Standard defines the basic elements of wheelchairs (manual, electric and any others) and gives terms and definitions for these elements in an illustrated glossary. It also illustrates the dimensions commonly used to describe wheelchair physical characteristics. Wheelchairs can be equipped with many accessories and the list given is not exhaustive.
