Full Description

This International Standard provides the key features, requirements and general framework for conducting the interpretation phase. Interpretation is the phase of LCA as defined in 14040 in which conclusions and recommendations are drawn from the findings of the inventory analysis and if undertaken, the impact assessment. The framework for interpretation is defined by the goal and scope of the study. This International Standard does not describe specific methodologies for the interpretation phase of a life cycle assessment study or a life cycle inventory study because there are so many viable options therefore no unique approach is feasible.
