This document summarizes the results of a study to evaluate and improve supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) methods and instrumentation for analytical-scale extractions of petroleum hydrocarbons from soils and sludges. The study determines which types of samples and waste are best suited for analysis by SFE and optimal conditions for complete extraction.
