AASHTO M 199M/M 199-17 covers the manufacture and purchase requirements of products used for the assembly and construction of circular vertical precast reinforced concrete manholes and structures used in sewer, drainage, and water works.

This specification agrees with ASTM C 478M-15a and C 478-15a except that the absorption test is limited to the 5-h boil method, and the method of retest in case of failure of absorption specimens as well as the test for compressive strength determination differ.
